My heart broke for the babies and families in extreme poverty.  The devastating reality of extreme poverty is  that every day 1,500 women die from complications in pregnancy or childbirth that could have been prevented. Each day 10,000 newborns die within a month of birth, and daily the same number of babies are also born dead.  And, more than 9 million children under age 5 die each year. Two-thirds of these deaths — more than 6 million every year — are preventable.

My husband and I sponsor a mom and baby in Haiti, but it doesn’t seem like enough.

It hit me…this is who I need to help; this is a project that my company needs to take on!

In 2012, we founded A Giving Chance.  An online drawing that is celebrated with a Dream Team Business Makeover from 15 brilliant and successful entrepreneurs that will give the winner a brand new website, copy, social media campaigns, PR and more with 100% of drawing donations going to Compassion International’s Child Survival Program to fight extreme poverty and rescue moms and babies.  This program gave 25,000 moms and babies the life saving support they needed in 2011.

A Giving Chance has been a wonderful success and we continue to donate to the child survival program.
